Individual Therapy

Here at Wellness Counseling and Evaluation, PLLC, we love serving clients from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.  But, we have additional knowledge, expertise and training to best meet the needs of moms, teens and young adults, and families of first responders. Our own personal stories have allowed us to uniquely connect with these populations.

Moms

Whatever stage of motherhood you are in, we will meet you in that place.

The moment we become a “mom” our lives are forever changed.  So many parts of this journey are beautiful, but other parts are hard…really hard.  Our lives change dramatically overnight.  We no longer have the time and space to meet our own needs.  Our emotions deepen to a level that we never imagined possible.  We often feel physically, emotionally and mentally exhausted.  Our lives are full of consistent change and transitions.  Motherhood can feel like a lot and sometimes it is just TOO MUCH.

But, there is another way.  We would love to walk beside you as you learn to create space to be able to breathe again.  Let’s talk about how you can slowly begin to get in touch with your own needs, wants and desires.  It might be time to put thoughtful boundaries around some of your time and parts of your life.  If you are ready for something different, we can help you get there.

Teens and Young Adults

As a teen or young adult in college or early in your career, you have likely come across many stressors while striving to find your place in the world, both socially and in terms of your education and work. It can be difficult to find a healthy life balance, particularly when stress, anxiety, sleep problems, or burnout have become a normal part of your life. Many teens and young adults experience certain life transitions that can quickly spiral a highly productive lifestyle into one that is solely fueled by stress and anxiety. By working with us, you can discover the self-understanding and skills necessary to navigate the stressors in your life.

Families of first responders

Being the family of a first responder can be complex.  It is an experience that most will not fully understand unless they have walked that road.  For some, it may mean that family life is more complex and consistently changing.  Plans are always in the air and your spouse or loved one can’t be available when you need them.  But, for others, it may also entail watching a loved one experience countless traumas.  It may mean that your partner, spouse or parent is consistently triggered by workplace stress.   Your loved one may have changed who they are as his or her career took over their life.  It is not uncommon for first responders to experience hypervigilance, irritability, angry outbursts, sleep disturbances, emotional numbing and problems in relationships due to the repeated traumas that they are faced with.  You are not alone and we know how to walk beside families as they learn new ways to cope with the stressors that life can bring.

When is Online Therapy the Right Choice?

Our goal is to make high-quality mental health services available to more individuals so that our community can thrive emotionally and mentally. We are able to do this by providing access to highly trained licensed mental health counselors by an electronic means. By providing services online, clients can access care from their own home or office, increase confidentiality, and can easily fit appointments into busy schedules. If you are unsure of whether online therapy is the right choice, we encourage an intake session to determine if it’s the right fit.

The clients who tend to benefit the most from online therapy are busy professionals and parents, college students and teens.
